Honest numbers.

Premium doesn't have to mean opaque. Here's what things broadly cost, what they cost to run, and exactly what you get — before you've given us so much as an email address.

Guide prices

Fixed quotes. No mysteries.

Illustrative starting prices for typical London houses, including design, equipment, installation, making good and commissioning — and every installation carries our five-year parts and labour guarantee. Your design visit turns these into a fixed quote.

One room, done properly
£2,500 from

A single slimline system for the room that suffers most — usually the main bedroom or a loft office.

  • Slim wall unit, mounted high out of the eyeline
  • Whisper mode for bedrooms
  • Quiet-sited outdoor unit
The whole house
£11,950 from

Five rooms across three floors — kitchen and four bedrooms — from one compact condenser, our townhouse reference design.

  • Wall or floor units, zoned room by room
  • Heating as well as cooling
  • Permitted development, checked and documented
  • Or our twin-condenser Duo — two smaller condensers each cruising in their most efficient range rather than one working flat out, and if one ever pauses the other keeps the house going. We handle the planning application the second unit needs

Prefer supply only?

Renovating with your own contractor already on site? We'll design the system, specify and supply the equipment trade-direct, and commission it at the end — your builder does the middle.

Engineered value

Top of the range — and the economical choice.

It sounds wrong, so we'll say it plainly: because we engineer our own units and buy at the source, our top-of-the-range installation routinely undercuts the big-name equivalent by a four-figure sum — and runs cheaper, year after year, than the budget kit it outclasses. Value for money isn't a price point at Coole & Frost. It's an engineering discipline.

  • One properly sized condenser instead of three or four cheap ones — less kit to buy, power, service and eventually replace
  • Premium inverter systems run at nearly twice the seasonal efficiency of budget units — the running-cost gap repays the difference
  • Room-by-room zoning cools the rooms you're in, not the whole house on a single thermostat
  • Designed, consented and made good once, properly — no revisits, no planning retrofits, no awkward survey when you sell

Running costs

Cooler than you think. Cheaper too.

Modern inverter systems sip electricity: once a room reaches temperature, the compressor idles along keeping it there. Cooling a bedroom overnight typically costs less than the coffee you'll enjoy more after a proper night's sleep. Try it with your own tariff.

And in winter the same system heats at roughly a quarter of the cost per unit of heat of plug-in electric heaters — efficiency that quietly pays you back all year.

per month, every night

Estimate based on our units' lab-measured seasonal efficiency (SEER 6.5) and an averaged compressor duty once rooms are at temperature. Your design visit includes figures modelled for your actual rooms.

What's included

Every quote, everything in.

  • Design visit, heat-load calculations and system design
  • Permitted-development check and MCS noise assessment — a planning application only if genuinely needed
  • Coole & Frost slimline units, independently lab-certified
  • Installation, protection and making good, on a fixed programme
  • Commissioning, controls set-up and household walkthrough
  • Extended manufacturer warranties through our accreditations
  • First year's service visit, on us

The quote you sign is the price you pay. If we find something unexpected behind your ceiling, that's our problem — it's why we survey properly first.
